187: You’ve built the offer but how do you get people to see it?
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
If you’re trying to grow an online business, chances are you’re spending a LOT of time marketing it.
Social media, emails, networking, content creation… organic marketing can be incredibly powerful but it also relies heavily on one thing... your time.
In this episode of Online Business Uncovered, I’m joined by Meta Ads and Digital Marketing Expert Tammy Pereira as part of my special Online Business Growth Summit Speaker Series.
We explore how paid advertising can help you create a more consistent and predictable way of getting your offers in front of the right people, without needing a huge advertising budget.
Tammy shares what you need to have in place before you start running ads, why paid advertising isn’t a magic fix for an offer that isn’t selling and how you can start testing Meta ads with a budget of as little as $5 a day.
We also talk about how AI is changing the advertising landscape and making it easier for small business owners to create, test and optimise their campaigns.
If you sell online courses, memberships or digital products and you’re ready to explore ways of growing your audience without relying entirely on organic marketing, this episode will give you plenty to think about.
Tammy is also one of the expert speakers joining me at the Online Business Growth Summit this October, where she’ll be delivering her session, How to Grow Your Digital Product Business with $5/Day AI Ads.

Because each week I'll be bringing you inspiring conversations or practical step-by-step guidance to help you create sustainable, repeatable, digital product, or more. So if you're ready to stop waiting your time for money, reclaim your time, and finally build a business to give you the freedom that you deserve, subscribe and tune in every Thursday. Let's uncover what's already possible for you starting now. Hello and welcome to Online Business Uncovered. I'm your host, Karen, and I really do appreciate you hitting the play button to listen to today's episode. Now, I talk a lot on this podcast about creating a business that doesn't rely entirely on you selling your time. But there's another side to that conversation that we don't always talk about. How do you actually get the right people to find the things that you create? Because you can create the most amazing course, membership or digital product, but if you don't have a consistent way of getting in front of the right people, then it's going to be very difficult to generate consistent sales. Now, for many of us, we spend a lot of our time doing organic marketing, social media, sending emails, going networking, creating podcasts, writing blogs, all of those things. And they can work incredibly well. But they also require us to give a lot of time. If the whole reason you're creating scalable offers in your business is so that you get more freedom, then at some point it makes sense to look at other ways that you can take the pressure off yourself. And that's why paid advertising becomes really interesting. So my guest today is Tammy Pierre, who is a meta-ad and digital marketing expert who helps business owners use paid advertising to reach more of the right people without needing enormous advertising budget. So if you've ever thought about running a Facebook or Instagram ad, but maybe you've been worried about wasting money or you're overwhelmed by all the tech, or simply that you think that you need a huge budget to make this work for you, then this episode is going to be really interesting. So let's jump into today's conversation with Tammy and let's get started. Today I am joined by another incredible expert who will be speaking at this year's online business growth summit. Now, throughout this special series, I'm chatting with our speakers to give you a sneak peek into the knowledge that they're going to be sharing and more importantly to help you discover practical ways to build a business that gives you more income, more freedom, and less reliance on selling your time. So let's jump in. And today I am with Tammy Piera, who is a Facebook ads expert. And I'm really excited about this interview. Welcome, Tammy. Would you like to start just by introducing yourself and um letting the listeners know who you are and what you do?
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, Karen. Hello, everyone. My name is Tammy P. I'm a Facebook ads expert. And before we get started, I want to just thank Karen because Karen's the one that invited me to be on this summit interview. And I am so, so excited to be here today, Karen, and excited to give everybody a sneak peek into what we'll be sharing on the summit.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no thing it, thank you. I'm excited just before we continue, because obviously I've been in your world for I reckon a number of years, and I've I've been one of those people that have sort of sat in the background and um you know kind of watched from afar. And and whenever I want to learn something about Facebook ads, or you know, you post something and your content is amazing, um, you know, I've been fortunate enough to be in your world. So when I was thinking about, oh, I really wanted to do a session in the summit about Facebook ads, because whether you like it or not, Facebook ads obviously is a valuable tool to use, and I I you instantly came to mind. So I was so thrilled when you agreed to speak. So thank you. Oh, thanks, Karen.
SPEAKER_00Yes, I'm so happy that you've been in my world for a while. It's fine. It's just like we can I can give back to you now because we've been doing you're doing this amazing summit, which I'm very excited for you. Like really, really excited. Um, yeah, so a little bit, just a tiny little bit about me. Um, I came into online space, it's been in 2018 is when I came in. Wow. But I've been doing advertising um, gosh, over 20 years now. So it's been my whole career marketing and advertising. But um, when I came into online space and I started to work in the coaching and consulting industry, everything changed for me. And my first little bit in the first year I came in, everyone started saying, Oh, you know, Facebook ads. I kept hearing all these coaches, Facebook ads, Facebook ads, Facebook ads. But what it was was I felt that it was a bit unreachable because here I am as a new business, and they're saying, Oh, you need all this money to do these Facebook ads, and you know what that did? It made me curious, but it also made me want to hack the system and learn Facebook ads for myself. And what I happened to learn in the process of going through it was teaching others that I'm intuitively good at it and I love doing it, and it has been the most impactful thing that has grown my business in the last eight years.
SPEAKER_01It's interesting, isn't it? Because often um we we arrive at a certain place in our business doing what we do because we've been led there out of curiosity. Um so so obviously your background sort of feeds in really nicely, but but your business today essentially is off the back of that curiosity because somewhere along the line, obviously, you you made that decision that that more people needed to know. Because I think when um we hear about Facebook ads, it number one, it can feel really overwhelming because it's one of these things with social media, it's free, the cost is your time, but essentially you're not having to put money into it. But when it comes to Facebook ads, that you need a budget and that can get very expensive. But if you don't know what you're doing, it can be very overwhelming. So, and what I like about what you do is that you break it down and you simplify it and you make it very doable for micro business owners to be able to, you know, play with with Facebook ads.
SPEAKER_00Yes, I absolutely agree because if you feel overwhelmed and you feel like you can't do it, then you're not gonna do it. But this is a critical piece to growth because, as you know, as a business owner, there are certain ways to grow. And if you're in the mindset of growth in your business, this is one of the really, really a most amazing ways to grow quickly. Especially um, yeah, so it's absolutely incredible.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. How has Facebook evolved um on the side of ads since 2018 to today? Um, because obviously more and more more and more sort of people have found it really, haven't they? And they're, you know, but so so we're seeing like endless ads when we're on Facebook, on Instagram, and but from your side of things, what what has been the biggest change that's really sort of taken place?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so I mean the massive changes, and this is the thing when people come back to me, like you're one of the people who've been in my world for a while, and when people come back and work with me again, it's mostly because they maybe they ran ads a couple years ago and they come back into the ads manager like, how do I do this? This is so different. So the thing is, I am in there every single day, and so as things happen, I see it roll out and evolve. But um, you know, one of the biggest things is people get overwhelmed because of all the changes. And when I think about 2018 versus now, ads are entirely different, even how they um figure out who to run your ads, like what audience to put your ads in front of as a particular business owner in a particular niche, it is that has been the largest change because they are now Meta is actually um tracking people based on, and it sounds weird to say tracking, but based on their behaviors, like how they use social media. So they show people your ad based on how people act or behave on social media just regularly. Um, and another thing too that I want people to understand is we can use social media organically, and I fully understand how to use social media organically, that means without pay, but at the same time, the platforms are set up as a pay-to-play. So people don't realize that they are prolonging their growth by not even investing a small amount into ads.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. I I definitely feel like the way that they have um shifted the algorithms, um, the there's more of an incentive now that if you want to get what you're you what you've created in front of the right people, it's almost like forcing you to kind of maybe go down the road of paid. Um because because I I feel like it's such a small percentage that actually gets to see your organic content.
SPEAKER_00Um in breaking down too, not only is it a small percentage of people, but it is the is it the right percentage of people. So either we're building our platform on Facebook to attract the people that would be our most ideal clients, or we're just putting out social media content and hoping those people find our content. So it's a it's a very it's very much a flip. We're the driver, we're putting ourselves as the driver in the seat of our content. And I don't care whether it's organic social media or Facebook ads, it's all the same, really.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I I guess with Facebook ads, at least you can be more specific as to, like you say, exactly who it lands in front of. Um, and and because you've got obviously paid, um, you know, you're paying for it, you're you're more likely going to get better results off the back of that. Because I do think I I do like a bit of social media, but it but it can be a real-time suck. And I and I think there's so much noise on there now that to stand out and for your content to really be seen, you know, you're gonna have to it's uh be on there a long a lot, um, and and you know, know the hacks, I think, in order to get those kind of results, so which is obviously where Facebook ads do come in. So what's one of the biggest mistakes that you see when it comes to um service providers who are creating digital offers, um present their stuff, like market their stuff online? Um is it is it is it not using ads, is it not using ads? Is that like could that be one of the biggest mistakes?
SPEAKER_00I mean, I think so, right? I'm gonna of course say that, but the thing is, if you are starting, let's say you created a new course, okay? Let's say you have this idea as a as a coach or a service-based consultant to create a new course, but you don't have very much of an audience. Maybe you only you haven't really worked on, you know, building your audience. Well, once you put your course out, you create it, right? But then who's gonna buy it? So this is a lot of times people create in a vacuum and they don't really think about you know how they're gonna sell it, essentially, right? Facebook ads is an easy way to sell. Now, another thing too is we create, we'll say, okay, we can come up with a course idea. Well, how are we gonna validate that idea is a good one that's gonna sell, right? Are we gonna go around to our neighbors, friends, networking, and figure it out, or can we run ads and figure it out faster? And so a lot of people they put themselves out, they create offers in a vacuum, and they actually don't even know if they're gonna sell. And so they'll say, Oh, the Facebook ads didn't work, but really they never validated their offer to know even if it's something that people want. And so the beautiful thing about Facebook ads is you can validate your offer and so much faster than you ever could by doing it organically. It might take you years, where uh you could sell your course in a month or a couple of weeks and know whether it's something that people want or not.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think that's a really good point. I mean, I talk about that a lot with um my my my clients and my members and stuff about validating because I've seen so many uh people create offers that and they've made assumptions as to what they think people want rather than actually doing their due diligence around that. Um, but like I say, then bringing in Facebook ads, you get to speed up that process.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. So you can go faster with everything that you do, but it's the confidence around it, the confidence that this is something that you're going to use in your business and it's going to work. So a lot of times people dip their toes in and they're not really all in with it. They're like, oh, I'm gonna try it a little bit and just see. And it's like everything else um, consistency and how we show up in our business. And Facebook ads is just one way. Um, but it is awesome for consistency, even if we're on vacation, we can run our ads and not be working, but still be bringing in business for ourselves.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, definitely. I think one of the the things that can overwhelm is setting the ads up. I think I think whenever I've had conversations with people and I've said, oh, you know, um, you know, if you use Facebook ads, it's it's the the the the look of fear of because they're having to deal with meta and the Facebook ads more money and trying to figure out you know the ads and you know the the the ads manager and and it and the mat they change the ads manager a lot, don't they? You know, they're they're always uh moving things around, you know. Um but but is that something that you find when you're working with people that the tech side can kind of be a bit scary, they get a bit overwhelmed with that. And how do you how do you kind of manage that?
SPEAKER_00Um, well, I I love to teach. So the whole thing is I love the fact that I can teach someone, I can mentor someone on Facebook ads a client, and I can empower them to learn how to grow their business, right? And a lot of times I do, I actually tell people when they're like, should I work with someone, hire like an agency or something, or should I learn these? I always say to people, you should learn these on your own first or through like some kind of a mentorship or something because um learning how to do the ads on your own gives you so much information to know with whether you're gonna work with someone in the future, whether they know what they're doing. Because we need to take ownership and responsibility for our own business's success, right? So part of that is learning and understanding them, and so I I kind of drop that. I work with clients, kind of drop the resistance around learning it. Um, because honestly, it is something that is absolutely it is a step-by-step process, meaning like I do it so much that I I joke that I could do with my eyes closed. So it's very intuitive to me because I'm in it every day. But the only difference between me and someone else who's learning is that they're just not in it. So getting yourself acclimated to the ads manager, um, working with a mentor or going some through a solid training or course so you can acclimate and start to feel more comfortable with it before you actually do it, and then slowly dip your toes in. Um, I think people they just go in so fast and they'll invest in ads. They'll spend way too much in ads, or they'll spend way too much on a coach, and then they'll say, That didn't work. I'm just scared, I'm gonna just do nothing. And I'm like, that's not a solution, right? We've got to keep moving forward with our business and with our growth. We can't just say it didn't work and not try again. Um, you know, and so that that is goes into business building, it goes into mindset. There's a lot of mindset that goes into Facebook ads, not only just technology.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I love that. And I love your what you said about you know taking ownership for your business because I've always subscribed to that. I want to know every piece about my business before I outsource it, because then I know what I want to achieve and what I'm paying for as well, and then I can sort of see um what's working, what's not, rather than you know, just kind of burying your head in the sand, giving it to, like you say, an agency, and then and then just not knowing anything about it, but then not understanding when it doesn't work as well. So so I agree with you. I think I think it is about sort of taking the time to learn, and I see it as one of the benefits about being a business owner is we get to learn all of these different things. And although marketing and ads and all of that can feel really scary, it's also really empowering when you think about what you're able to achieve from it and being able to kind of like you say, drive your business forward and grow it in the way you want it to grow, be it by being able to use the these tools that are available to us. So, yeah, I agree with you. I think there's a real big my mindset piece there. Um, you know, it's it's it's Facebook ads is such an interesting one, isn't it? Because because I think there's free advertising on social, you know, like I can I can go on Facebook, I can go into a group and I can post this and it's free. I don't have to worry about putting money behind it. So then people veer towards that side rather than being like, okay, let's let's actually put some money behind it and let's let's see see how it goes. Um so yeah, I it's it's all about that mindset shift. But what I wanted to sort of ask you, right? So so as a digital entrepreneur who is creating offers to sell online, using Facebook ads is is a great way to build their audience and to sort of bake in um the results that they're looking for. Um, and of course, one of the themes for for this year's um online business growth summit is helping entrepreneurs build businesses that don't solely rely on their time. And and this is where Facebook ads come in, isn't it? You touched upon it before when you sort of said you can set it like set and forget almost. Um can you can you kind of explain a little bit more about this? Because a lot of the my listeners, you know, they are very much um time poor because of all obviously all the pressures on them and that. But how can Facebook ads help them to sort of give them more flexibility, more time, and more control in their business?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I mean this is the thing with entrepreneurs, right? And many of the entrepreneurs, I don't know the stats on this, but many of them are solo entrepreneurs, or maybe they have like a small team, like a VA and things like that, right? And so for me, when I was first starting in my business, when I was really um pushing myself out there in growth mode, let's just say, like really just getting started in the online space. I was doing all the things, right? And I was working probably any at least 12 hours a day. Um, and I think when you start a business or you're starting something new, like for me, I was getting into online space and I was excited about it. I was doing interviews like this, um, talking about my expertise and pushing myself out there. But what I started to notice is that I was getting burned out. So there are moms like you are, Karen, and I also noticed there's different seasons of my life, right? There's certain times where my kids were in school and I could push harder, I could do more of the speaking, I could put myself out there, I could do more of the networking. Um, but there's certain times in my life where I just was tired. Like my kids were home for the summer. Okay, I don't want to go live as much. I don't want to do all those things. So, what can I do instead? I can set up ads and I can still grow my business even. When I'm doing other things. And it is, it does come down to time versus money. And I know that's so cliche, but it's true. We only we don't have an infinite amount of time in our day. So if we're doing things in our business and are not actively growing our business, well, then we need to allocate methods for growing our business. So if we're not willing or have the time to grow by doing, I don't know, networking, um, just talking to people, because I always say with uh with growth, and if you want new clients, one of the things I say is conversations equals cash. If you don't have time to have those conversations, what other methods can we use? And what I love again, I'm gonna say Facebook ads, because we don't necessarily have to exert our energy in order to grow our business. So depending on and looking at our business from a bird's eye view, what do I actually have time for? Um, am I feeling burned out right now? You know, what is going on in my life? What is going on? Because it is about work-life balance. And I know people say that, but there's many, many people walking around where they pushed and they pushed and they pushed and they are tired and they need a break. So I'm speaking to um, you know, the people that are feeling that. And the Facebook ads, yes, there's a learning curve. I don't disagree, but it's totally possible for people to learn this stuff, especially with AI and all the things right now. Um, because we have so many tools in our toolbox where we don't necessarily have to know all the things or be creative in order to be successful with these things.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, absolutely. I I agree with you there. I think there's a lot of people that are on the verge of burnout because they're trying to do all the things and it's exhausting, you know, trying to trying to run a business, trying to keep business going, trying to keep clients happy, trying to grow your business, networking or whatever, um, you know, creating content, trying to do all the things that you think you should be doing. Um, meanwhile, feeling like most of the things you're not doing well because you don't, it's not really your skill, um, you know, your expertise. So, so yeah, and I think I think you're absolutely right. I think this is where ads can come into it. You can you can kind of get them set up and and and kind of let them do the work for you. Um so so yeah.
SPEAKER_00And the beautiful thing about ads, and especially when we talk about Facebook ads, because there's different types of ads we can run, not just Facebook ads, right? But what I love in particular about Facebook ads, and people say, you know, one of the number one things, or the two main things that people say to me when they say they cannot do Facebook ads, when I hear that line. Um it's the the technology, so they're nervous about making all the tech work or spending money. And the beautiful thing about ads, meta-ads, is that you can literally go, okay, I'm gonna turn my ads on for a week because I'm on vacation with my kids, and then you can turn them off. You don't have to leave them on all the time. Once you go through the process of optimizing and understanding how the ads work, turn them on, turn them off to generate business at your will. And this is the part, again, they don't teach you, but once you learn how to understand ads, you can absolutely do it. So you don't have to be spending money, you can have a budget, you can stick to the budget, um, and you can keep the wheels turning in your business, even then when you don't have time to pump out the three posts you need to do on social media. And by the way, I don't I've never done it that way. So I've never done organic social media the way that people teach it. I actually do it in reverse. I I do the organic social based on what I'm doing with my advertising. It's actually the flip opposite.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's interesting. Yeah, I've now I've not heard that. Yeah, I think I think that I think with social media, I I just feel like it's a rabbit hole that people go down, and you can end up feeling like you've got to be everywhere on every platform, delivering all of this content, and then it's like your whole week then becomes about content and and you get very little else done, and it just becomes very all-consuming because you're trying to be visible in in, like, say, a really noisy space. Um, so I so I it's really interesting because I know in my, you know, where you have these internal dialogues with yourself, and I'm always sort of like, you know, kind of working things through. But I go, I flip-flop really because some sometimes I love social, sometimes I just can't stand it. I just think, you know, it just is such a waste of time. Um yeah, but but but we're look we're fortunate now because we have so many things, like you say, in our toolbox that we can leverage to be able to kind of get in front of the people that we need to get in front of, which is great. So one of the things that that I think people do become really nervous about is of course the the spend. Um and I and I know you have a a great great strategy where where it's actually really affordable. Um, and that it ties in with your session. So um for everybody that is joining us at the online business growth summit, um, do you want to just give a an outline of what your session is going to be? Um so they know it's one not to be missed.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely. And um I think like two things right now are relevant when it comes to ads. One that I want to share is I want to share with everybody um what the latest is kind of on Facebook ads, like where I see Facebook ads going, where is it at now? Where is it going? Because people need to understand the trajectory of the space so they can holistically understand what they're doing in the online space. And um, you know, for me as an example, when I think about just what you said about, hey, we need to be on all the platforms, like you know, I I understand the the need for that, but then there's part of me that says, like, that is a distraction, right? So being in that mindset of I need to create content all the time, I need to be on the platforms, all the platforms, it just actually creates distractions in our business, right? Whereas we can put a little bit of money in, we're talking about $5 a day kind of a strategy on our ads, draw in more of the people that would be our ideal clients, and then nurture them on a Facebook platform. It could be Facebook or Instagram. So, you know, an organic strategy is more of like, hey, we're just gonna put our information out and hopefully somebody finds it and comes back, versus we can run ads for $5 a day, run it to our particular audience that we want to ideally attract, and then have the conversations on Facebook, versus feeling like we need to be on Facebook all day long, you know, and so that's just that's how I flip it around, so I don't feel like that. Um, I just wanted to add that in, but anyway, so I'm gonna be talking about kind of the state of Facebook ads, where I think they're at, where I think they're headed, and sneak peek, just a little curiosity for everyone here. Facebook ads is much more optimizing for sales now. So we're gonna talk about that. We're gonna talk about because why do we want to run ads? We want to run ads because we want clients, we want to bring in income for our business, and so um, yeah, I won't get much more into that, but there is some competition over on Meta. They're feeling the competition, so they are changing the algorithm on the ads so that the things, the money that we spend actually will turn into something, right? Which is client to ultimately want. So I feel like that is a huge shift. I gave it gave it away a little bit. So I'm gonna talk about that kind of the state of Facebook ads right now, where I see it as far as industry goes. Second, we're gonna talk about um audiences, and there's a lot of confusion. I still get questions from people from years ago on how they were running Facebook ads and audiences and how we are now. We're leaving them um a lot more open, allowing Facebook to uh pick the audiences for us. So I'm gonna do a deep dive into that, and then the third part, we're gonna talk about um AI creative. So, how we can leverage the AI tools in our business to create uh not only the copy, but also the design, whether it be video or um images and different things that I utilize and um based on the type of ad that I'm doing and things like that. So all these things will be taught. Uh, and I'll introduce you to some of the tools. I use quite a few different um AI tools in order to make my life easier um when I'm creating not only for myself but for my clients.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that sounds great. That sounds great. Yeah, I I um I recently went on holiday and I set up a lead ad and um I was setting up the uh the creative and um it had the AI um sort of functionality and it took and I and I uploaded it was uh so it was a talking video uh of for the ad. And what it did, it took me and then it kind of popped me in different scenarios and I know like the whole AI avatar thing, you know, is obviously quite you know, people are using it, but it just kind of just it was so weird because it was like it almost like extracted me and put me in so many different things. Um having said that, I mean it look, you know, some of it look good and it and it and all of this stuff is there, I guess, to to kind of help us and to you know make our life easier and stuff. It just gave me a giggle because I think where it completely airbrushed me, I didn't always like, is that Bay?
SPEAKER_00And you know, that gives me to another point, and this is something I talk with my clients all the time is when we talk about AI, like also putting ourselves out in an authentic way. So there's a way that we can use AI, but being careful about how we use it in a creative way because we still want our brand, if we are the face of the business as a coach or fullant or a service-based provider, do we want to project ourselves as the AI avatar? To me, I'm gonna say no, I'm not gonna put that as part of my creative, right? Because part of my um, or part of the things that people say to me is like, hey, you just seem real, you're authentic, I can trust you, right? And that's part of my image and persona, it's part of who I am. So um it doesn't feel authentic to me. So some of the things I talk about is like AI is great, it's a great assistant, especially if we're not designers, if we're not copywriters, it's a great tool. But we also have to be cogn uh cognizant of our brand and how we are perceived. So um, like when I hear you say that, it makes me feel like you didn't really like it. So maybe you shouldn't do your creative that way. Find a different way to use AI to create something that you'd feel like really good about, you know, pushing out and yeah, yeah, I didn't use it because I'm like, I'm like you.
SPEAKER_01I um I I cannot use, I can't bear AI avatars. Um yeah, I I had a client that all of her content she literally pasted AI avatars of herself all over it, and it just gave me the ick. I just because because I think authenticity in business, when we talk about the no like and trust, and when people are buying into what we do, what we offer, who we are, we have to present ourselves in a way that is real. Um, and and these, and like you say, these AI avatar figures, they just don't look um and that and they but it's just something that yeah, I'm yeah, I feel really funny about. Um but you know, like when it does it automatically, it's sort of you upload your your artwork and your content, and then it just tapes it off and does it, and then I think you have to click something to to say you want to go ahead with it. But it just kind of gave me, he just made me laugh because it was just it it was so bizarre. Um, but yeah, my mine is a rough and ready video. That's what I decided to put out because I would rather people see me for who I am. That's why I um the podcast is so important to me, because um people can can hear what I say. It's my own language, it's everything I share is is authentic, it's original, it it's what it's what's going on in my world, it's what's important to me, it's my passion, it's everything. And and you know, I feel like that is the thing that people are buying into. They're not yeah, I see I see the AI, the AI avatars all over the place, and I'm just like, no, you know, and that's people who I want to attract in my business too, as clients.
SPEAKER_00I want to attract people who want the genuine help, that value the genuine help, that see my authenticity, see that I have expertise and something to offer, right? Versus, hey, we're gonna give you like hey, some fake AI stuff, and then we're gonna sell you something that's also fake. Like, um, and I think that's uh that's a difference between businesses that last and are sustainable and not, it's really we're looking at how we put ourselves out there, and that goes into when I was beginning a conversation. I said to you before we even started this interview, which is visibility and how we put ourselves out um as our authentic selves. And part of um doing Facebook ads is visibility, and um, you cannot imagine how many people I talk to, they're nervous about doing Facebook ads, and it's much deeper than just spending the money. It's actually how they're putting themselves out there, how people see them or perceive them as um business owners in the online space. So there's many, many layers that come when it factor in when it comes to Facebook ads. It's not just about the money, it's actually a lot deeper. It's a lot deeper about how you want to run your business, how you see your business going, how you see the growth, what's happening inside of yourself, because most of entrepreneurship is not actually teaching you a skill set and then you doing it. Um, most of it's up here. Uh, and that's what I uh that's what I've learned over many, many years of my business.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I again I agree with you. I I think there's a real identity piece there. Um, I see it, I see it with the work that I do because often people will come in, come to me because they're looking to shift something, but in order to create any minimal full shift, there's often an identity shift as well. Um and and I think it depends on on, like you say, what's going on and how they're seeing themselves, and and and it it is very layered. Um, I think that was probably yeah, I think that I think that's probably one of the biggest things I noticed because I used to um pre-2020, I I had a branding studio, and so I was very much of a service provider, and I would work with clients and help them with their branding and the websites and all of that stuff, but but but it felt very different because they were handing it over and I would go off and do it and I would then present and do whatever. But the work that I do today, I'm asking people to kind of have faith in themselves, to to see themselves in a certain way as the expert so that they can create the offers that they want to create in order to be able to generate that income. And and that's a real kind of shift in identity as well, because often they they don't see themselves as the expert. You know, they are the expert because they're the ones that are supporting their clients. But when you say to somebody you are the expert, they're like, Oh, I don't know if I feel comfortable, I don't know if I am the expert, I don't know if I can really teach this. And it's like, but you are, you're already getting results and you're already doing the thing. Um, you're you you're this is more you're stepping into the the educator as opposed to the do-er, but but that identity shift is often what they need to go through to make it, you know, to really make it work and stuff. So yeah, I I think with Facebook ads as well, it's sometimes it's not as easy as just sort of setting up a Facebook ad and leaving it to run.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think we say it is, but then there's all these things, right? Because if they don't see themselves as an expert, they don't see themselves as a leader in the space, they're not gonna run the ads because why? Um, if everyone else is playing the organic and there's much less people running ads, how are you positioning yourself in the online space? You're positioning yourself as authority in the space because most people, most entrepreneurs are not running ads, right? So if you're not okay with that, you're not gonna run ads. So this is where there's a lot to it. It's not just about the money. I think surface-wise, that's what everybody says, but I think it's a lot deeper.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, definitely. It's funny with entrepreneurship, isn't it? I think it's the one thing they don't tell you, it's all about that personal development. You know, you start a business because you you're sort of chasing some kind of freedom, maybe. Maybe you want to break free from the corporate job, you want to kind of create something for yourself, you want to maybe create more freedom in your life, um, you know, create something on your own terms, but then what you actually realize is the truth is that you you start on this personal, personal development journey, and it is all about the internal growth that happens, you know, before anything external happens. And and I feel like that's the hidden secret that doesn't get to spoken about enough until you're on a journey.
SPEAKER_00It's taught differently, but yeah, like I always say being an entrepreneur, um, I don't see myself, I only see myself as an entrepreneur. It is literally feels like it's part of my identity, it's part of who I am. But um what they don't tell you um is they don't tell you that entrepreneurship is a thousand percent an inside job. It just is. And if you allow yourself to grow, your business will grow.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, absolutely. So thank you for that. I I I love having these kind of conversations because because you know, on a on the surface, yes, we talk about Facebook ads, but you know, as we we've obviously uncovered, there's so much more, and and it's so important, I think, to have these conversations because sometimes I think people, you know, and I and I've had conversations with people where they give themselves a hard time because they've not done the thing that they think they should be doing, and often there is a block, but they don't know what that block necessarily is. And it's just I think it always helps to kind of identify the fact that people aren't alone. This is common, it you know, if if you are somebody that what you know likes the idea of getting started with ads, but something's maybe holding you back, maybe there's a fear or a discomfort or whatever, it is perfectly normal, it just means that you're going into a growth stage and you're having to maybe learn something new, but you're growing with that. And and like I say, you know, I think it's just part and parcel of the journey, and that's why we have people like Tammy who is here to support and help. So, um, for my listeners, if you are wanting to get started with Facebook ads, reach out to Tammy because she's definitely somebody that I would recommend learning um from. Um, before we finish today's um interview, I just have some quick fire questions. So, are you a coffee or tea drinker? Coffee. I think it says a lot about somebody, whether they drink coffee or tea. I think it just it gives me everything I need to know. Yeah. Um, what's one business book you think every entrepreneur should be reading? I'm gonna say profit first. Oh, I love that book. Yeah, very much, yeah, very good. Yeah. Um, what's one tool or app that you just couldn't run your business without? I think I know where you're gonna go with this.
SPEAKER_00It's not actually meta ads manager, it's go high level. Oh, okay, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I have my um many people know and have heard of Go High Level, but um it is I have my own agency version called Funnel Club. And the reason why it's so critical to my business is it's actually is the other half of my business. So Facebook ads are the fronts and go high level is the back. It's all the automations and the whole platform that runs my business and it automates and connects with Facebook ads so beautifully, so we don't have to band our business band-aid our business together. And once I've implemented that my business, my business also changed.
SPEAKER_01So amazing. What's the best piece of advice, business advice that you've ever been given?
SPEAKER_00I think I was going back and forth between what it is, but um I think the number one thing is don't treat your business like a hobby. Be professional from day one on your business. And treat your business professionally. Because if you treat it professionally and you see your business as a professional business, so I love that.
SPEAKER_01One sentence, what does code in an online business mean to you?
SPEAKER_00I know we use that word um freedom before, but like I said, I think it's even more than that. I think it is a um passport to personal growth, success within ourselves.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's interesting. I've never heard it sort of being delivered like that, but you're absolutely right. Absolutely right. It's all about it's all about the personal growth.
